Responsibilities
- Responsible for the daily operations of the purchasing department including sourcing, evaluation and procurement of supplies.
- Develop substitutes if commodity is unavailable, or a more economical product if it meets user department’s requirements.
- Ensure that all purchases are carried out professionally accordingly to the highest standards of purchasing practice and the company’s interest is adequately safeguard in all transactions.
- Develop specific purchasing & costing objective, create short and long-term goals with a view to reducing the cost of materials and improving service to user departments.
- Maintain approved supplier List, procurement master file and relevant documents .Ensure documents are updated in share drive that required for food safety , Halal and sustainability audits.
- Perform market survey for best and new supply source. Contact potential suppliers and negotiate most favorable proposals. Establish and maintain professional relationship with existing suppliers and be on the lookout for new sources of supply.
- Perform cost controlling role which encompasses data analysis, management reporting and business decision advisory.
- Other ad-hoc duties assigned by your Superior.
Requirements
- Candidate must possess at least a Diploma / Bachelor Degree or equivalent;
- Candidate possess at least 2 years of experiences in Food Trading industry;
- Candidate with ISO and Halal Food documentation experiences will add advantage;
- Proficient in MS Office Applications;
