Responsibilities
- Seeks and prospects for high value target accounts to win new customers generally in the 100k – 500k range net sales per annum; focusing bringing new Ocean freight customers on board.
- Builds rapport and trust with customers by being informed about customer’s business and the market
- Assesses the type and size of customer needs and recommends solutions based on these needs by using industry knowledge
- Closes business connecting a customer need with a solution and the value it may create for the customers
- Gathers customer and market information to update product and trade lane on current conditions
- Supports customer retention by conducting joints visits with Product, TL and organizing workshops inviting customers to share information on updated regulations, products, etc.
- Ensures successful retention of customers by maintaining close liaison with them, ascertaining their satisfaction level via Global Forwarding service standards and to anticipate and/or prevent potential problems.
- Uses networks within the various Sales channels to collaborate on customers, marketing strategies and offers a full supply chain of services to service customer needs.
Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in relevant fields
- 2-3 years of relevant working experience
- Deep knowledge in the freight forwarding business
- Good communication and presentation skills, ideally selling experience in competitive markets
