Responsibilities
- Development and implementation of FRESH’s communication strategy and branding (5-year plan)
- Establishment of FRESH’s visual identity, including logo and introductory (corporate) video
- Establishment and growth of online and social media presence (aim for at least 2 messages/pieces per week)
- Aid FRESH staff in developing appropriate content for internal and external communications
- Act as a recognised spokesperson for FRESH with media and liaise with stakeholder corp comms teams was needed
- Plan and manage FRESH’s scientific conference and stakeholder management programme
- Support business development and admin activities e.g. facilitate partnership discussions and help manage negotiations between FRESH and collaborators (10-20% of time)
- Opportunity to develop research activities in the field of food safety risk communication in alignment with FRESH’s R&D programme (10-20% of time).
Requirements
- Degree in mass communication, journalism, public relations, marketing or related field, ideally with a specialisation in scientific communication
- Strong interest in food innovation and science.
- Knowledge of the food industry and prior experience dealing with risk communication events a plus
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in communications strategy development and implementation
