Responsibilities
- Participate in negotiations planning; contributing to a commodity strategy, and presentations/communication of consistent messages to suppliers.
- Participate as an advisory member of the New Product Introduction (NPI) team, providing information and guidance on the availability and cost of supplies and materials.
- Collaborate with suppliers, budget owners, supplier development team, material management, finance, legal, and security teams to ensure appropriate review, approvals, and documentation in order to support compliance and due diligence.
- Participate in assessing the market to identify viable suppliers that can meet the company’s needs, in terms of quality, quantity, and speed of delivery.
- Support the material management team to manage critical shortages or supplier performance issues, including escalation within the supplier and recommendations for alternative source development.
- Participate and manage related systems/procedure changes that have a broad effect on the execution of sourcing, purchasing, and supplier development responsibilities.
- Facilitate a positive and favorable supplier relationship and the development of a strategies that achieve sustainable relationships with suppliers
- Develop core competencies within the Business Commodity Team, including succession planning.
Requirements
- Degree in Supply Chain Management or Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
- Familiar with the use of ERP systems is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
