ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN/LIBRARIAN($4200-$5000/AWS/VB )ref: MT

$5k + AWS + VB + allowance

5 working days, Mon – Fri, normal office hours

Location:  West

 

Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate and implement appropriate tools and technologies to support digital library and digital scholarship initiatives.
  • Administer, manage and enhance library systems, technology-enabled learning spaces, library services platform, discovery services and related digital library applications.
  • Develop data analytics and reports of data gathered from library systems, web analytics and other sources to support evidence-based decision making and service improvement.
  • Implement and manage NIE Library’s digital scholarship initiatives such as digital exhibits, digital archives, and digital scholarship hub.
  • Proactively source, support and develop partnerships with faculty and students on digital scholarship activities including planning of digital projects, presenting and publishing of completed projects.
  • Foster communication between the Library and designated Academic Groups;
  • Participate in collection development, including identifying, evaluating and recommending library resources;
  • Liaise with NIE community to recruit content for the NIE data and digital repository;

 

Requirements

  • A University degree and a recognised postgraduate qualification in Library and/or Information Science, preferably with a background in digital library and/or digital scholarship project implementation.
  • At least 1 year of professional working experience in an academic library or research setting, with exposure to digital library and/or digital scholarship initiatives.
  • Proficiency in programming methodology, data analysis, data visualisation and/or web design.
  • Good interpersonal, communication (oral and written) and organisational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and innovatively with library colleagues, NIE and external communities.
